Accommodation Tax will be levied from October 1,2002 The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has introduced an Accommodation Tax to help cover expenses for tourism promotion measures and to enhance the attractiveness of Tokyo. The Accommodation Tax will be levied on the Guests who stay in Tokyo Metropolis at the Tokyu Hotels priced at \10,000 or higher. The Accommodation Tax will be levied from October 1 2002. The online room reservation screen only shows the room rate when you make your reservation. Tokyu Hotels List Capitol Tokyu Hotel, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, Haneda Tokyu Hotel Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu, Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu Shibuya Tokyu Inn, Shinbashi Atagoyama Tokyu Inn, Omori Tokyu Inn, Kichijoji Tokyu Inn [Tax Rate] Hotel Room Charge: Less than \10,000 Between \10,000 and \14,999 \15,000 or more Tax(for one person, for one night): Tax-free \100 \200 The so-called room only charge is the amount of money that should be paid for the value of the room (service charges related to this are included), and does not include charges for meals, drinking, entertainment, or conference. Revenue of the Accommodation Tax is used to promote the following tourism programs: 1. Creation and maintenance of signs easily understandable for foreign tourists 2.
