THE CAPITOL HOTEL TOKYU, A NEW LUXURY HOTEL IN TOKYO,
WILL OPEN ITS DOORS ON OCTOBER 22, 2010
|
|
TOKYO - February 2010 - Tokyu Hotels, Co., Ltd., is pleased to announce that The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, its new flagship hotel in Tokyo, will open its doors October 22, 2010.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu is a new twenty-nine story building at the same location where Tokyu Hotels used to operate Capitol Tokyu Hotel, which ceased operation after forty-three years in November 2006.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, which will be one of the most luxurious hotels in Tokyo, will be situated very conveniently in Akasaka, the heart of downtown Tokyo. It will be close to four different subway lines and just a short distance from the Prime Minister's Official Residence and other government buildings. Guests will also be able to savor the quiet natural surroundings of Hie Shrine, a serene space surrounded by natural beauty where it is possible to escape the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.

The Capitol Hotel Tokyu aims to be a new style of Japanese hotel which will provide a tranquil setting informed by a sophisticated Japanese taste, allowing guests to savor the changing seasons and forget the stress of daily life. The Capitol Hotel Tokyu's latticework-inspired exterior design evokes a traditional Japanese aesthetic and was designed by world famous design architect Kengo Kuma.

The hotel features 251 rooms, including thirteen suites, five restaurants and bars, five banquet spaces such as the 540 square meter Ho-Oh Room, and spa and fitness facilities including a twenty meter long indoor swimming pool.

Four suites are located on the 5th floor overlooking the greenery of the Hie Shrine located next to the hotel. All other rooms are located from 18th floor to the 29th floors, from which guests can enjoy gazing at Tokyo's beautiful skyline. All rooms are forty-five square meters or larger, invoking the delicate atmosphere of traditional Japanese architecture.

The hotel's selection of five fine restaurants includes Japanese cuisine, Chinese cuisine, all day dining, a lounge, and a bar. The Japanese restaurant Suiren is surrounded by green gardens and water, creating a calm space where guests will be able to enjoy kaiseki (traditional Japanese haute cuisine) or teppan-yaki (grilled cuisine). The Chinese restaurant Starhill and all day dining restaurant ORIGAMI will be brought back from the old Capitol Tokyu Hotel to serve the tastes that have been beloved by so many guests for forty-three years.
