Capitol Gyudon (Japanese Beef Bowl)
TOKYO, June 2019 - The Capitol Hotel Tokyu, a luxury hotel within a stone’s throw of the iconic Imperial Palace in Tokyo, introduces a new item on the menu: Capitol Gyudon (Japanese beef bowl) at 5,464JPY (tax and service charge included) at All Day Dining ORIGAMI from 16th June 2019.
The dish’s main feature is carefully-selected Kuroge-Wagyu, a type of beef that has a delicate flavour and soft texture. This beef is combined with seasonal onions sourced from local farmers and is immersed in a delicious broth – our secret ingredient and an ORIGAMI speciality called warishita that is a mixture of soy sauce, sugar and red sake which from the Kumamoto Prefecture. This pairing of wagyu beef and warishita gives the Gyudon an intense, rich and savoury flavour; umami – the flavour that Japanese cuisine is so famous for.
In addition, the side menu to the dish includes pickles and a consommé soup which offer a balance of fresh flavours thanks to yuzu juice and peel – complimenting the umami. Diners can customise the dish further to taste by adding condiments such as onsen tamago (soft boiled egg), wasabi, shichimi-togarashi (chilli pepper) and yuzu pepper.
