Chidorigafuchi Road / Chidorigafuchi Park

A 700-meter long promenade on the west side of the Imperial Palace, along the moat. Extending from the entrance of Chidorigafuchi Cemetery to Yasukuni Street, a variety of approximately 170 cherry trees are in bloom including Yoshino and Yamazakura. Enjoy the mystical atmosphere of the delicate pink hues reflected in the deep green water of the Hanzo moat and Chidorigafuchi.

Yasukuni Shrine

 

There are about 600 cherry trees, mainly Yoshikoshino and Yamazakura in the surrounds of Yasukuni Shrine. One of the responsibilities of the Meteorological Agency include forecasting and tracking cherry blossoms to report the first bloom and full bloom. Metropolian Tokyo’s “index tree” is located on the right side of Yasukuni Shrine from the second torii gate.

Kita No Maru Park / Nippon Budokan

Kita No Maru Park

Nippon Budokan

Nippon Budokan is located within the Imperial Palace grounds at Kita No Maru Park. Tabunoki and Mizuki trees are amoungst the cherry trees which can be viewed from above, with branches hanging so low almost touching the water surface. The reflection of cherry blossom petals on the water surface makes for a spectaculater sight.

Sotobori Park

 

A promenade apprimately 2-km long along the outer moats of Ushigome, Shinmitsuke and Ichigayabori. A prominent viewing spot where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll under a cherry blossom tunnel.

Tokiwa Bridge (Tokiwabashi)

 

Tokiwabashi was the point of entry in the outer moat of Edo castle, now restored as a part of a park. A cherry blossom cruise departs from the Tokiwabashi Disaster Prevention Dockyard where beautiful weeping cherry trees bloom.
