Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its annual Star Rating recipients, naming The Capitol Hotel Tokyu as Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel for 2024.

The only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants and spas, Forbes Travel Guide’s annual list has been revered as a global authority on travel since its launch in 1958. The guide was expanded to include five cities in Japan including Tokyo in 2015, for the Hotel and Spa category.

Opened in 1963 as the first global brand hotel in Japan, it was renamed The Capitol Tokyu Hotel in 1984 and has welcomed guests from around the world for 61 years. With traditional hospitality at its core, the hotel reopened as a flagship hotel of Tokyu Hotels Co., Ltd. in 2010 after a four-year renovation as The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. Embracing the concept of “fueki ryuko” meaning “continuity and change”, the hotel continues to deliver new experiences and discoveries of the highest quality to its guests.
