Banana bread

 

Our banana bread has been loved since "ORIGAMI" was established in 1963. Two ripe bananas are used to bake each loaf, and the full flavor of banana has a meltingly soft texture. The recipe which contains no butter has been passed down without alteration for over 40 years. Please savor its gentle aroma and fluffy texture.

Our banana bread, loved since "ORIGAMI" opened its doors in 1963, is used to make french toast. The banana bread is soaked in egg, milk, sugar and butter, and cooked in a pan with sprinkles of coconut flakes. Enjoy the crispy crunch on the outside and moist textures and flavors within.

Maple nuts bread

 

The fluffy and soft bread is mixed with maple nut paste in a marble pattern, and is generously sprinkled with roughly chopped almonds and walnuts. A bread with a deep flavor; with the added aroma and flavor of maple syrup, and the crunchy texture of nuts.

Chef Ryoichi Sugisawa
Born in 1971 in Saitama, our chef started his career as a baker in 1992. While training at a famous bakery in his local Saitama for 18 years, he enjoyed brilliant success. In 1998 he won the Grand Prix and in 2003 the Tetsujin Category Japan Prize for a competition sponsored by the [California] Raisin Administrative Committee, and was a finalist in "Coupe du Monde 2011", a bakery world cup held once every four years. He joined The Capitol Hotel Tokyu in 2010 when it opened. In 2014, he was appointed supervisor of the bakery. Everyday, he seeks to create flavors that bring joy to guests, while maintaining the traditional flavors that have been passed down from the old Capitol Tokyu Hotel.
